The problem is with so many of these videos. They don't get down to the nuts and bolts and tell you exactly why you need this, what problem it solves and how would the experience be without it. Great teaching is not just imparting what you know, it's ensuring you bring people to an understanding. This doesn't really achieve that.

What I missed here in both the real-life example and push-based systems intro is an explanation on why there is a need to "move the pump to the source". From how it was introduced in the video one could just say - keep pulling and you are fine.
